Yesterday i got into the titan fall beta, to my surprise it was working flawlessly. No bugs. No server failures. And most importantly i could find a game within seconds. Unlike most people who got in the beta a little earlier and gave up because the servers were packed - hence the beta people, rather that than it happen on the actual game.
First Impressions Upon first impressions i thought it looked like a cod game. More ghosts the way the menus are laid out and such. With custom classes later unlocked it had a very familiar feel from the cod franchise. None the less, i like the classic cod menus as they are easy to navigate and anyone can use them within one or two games. (note im using pc and get a solid 60 fps maxed out on 4x anti alias on a medium rig)

Gameplay
As soon as the game starts you are immediately hit with impressive graphics with a nice opening scene until the game starts. Instead of waiting with a little number on your screen you actually just jump out the back of a osprey and land on the ground depending on your game mode, with or without a atlas suit of armour - lets call it a osprey ok. The maps in the beta are actually really impressive. Certain parts only accessible without a atlas. Giving a reason to run around the map with your 'mirrors edge' free running abilities. On this note, the free running is tedious for a few games, but i'm sure once you have learned the maps you will be able to get from one side of the map to the other. Making use of all of the buildings and all of there walls that allow you to run along. Saying this, this is what makes the titans vs human a reasonably fair battle. In the titan you can hardly see the people underfoot. I have killed many by accident just by walking on them. You get a cloaking suite though, which makes you pretty much completely invisible to a titan pilot. You can jump onto a titan and start to tear away at the armour which is brilliant fun. If your armour gets destroyed and you make a quick eject, you are still in the fight in a game mode where you have to eliminate all enemy titans with only one life. This makes the gameplay even, and although you may not have armour, you can still take one down if you have the skills. Saying this, the pilot can see you are 'rodeoing' the titan and can deploy countermeasures such as an electric smoke screen which damages the pilot rodeoing your titan. Or you can do it like me and just jump out kill the **** and jump back in. Once you get used to the titan controls and its ability to dash from enemy missiles, you can actually stay in one for the majority of the game. Titan vs Titan combat is another story though, your health does not regenerate - but your shield does - so you have to be cautious about who you pick your battles with. You can though after getting the right titan class, take 2 titans at once. But at this point in the beta we are limited to the equipment we have as not everything is accessible, max level is 14. The TANK class is my personal favourite, with the smoke screen, you can make the most of close combat.

PVP Combat
Im sure there will be gamemodes in the full release that only have pvp combat along with the little bots running around clueless - easy as shit to kill - that will make the game seem so much more different. Combat at the moment in the beta seems to revolve around the titans, where there are titans there are pilots, where there are pilots then there are kills. However the bots actually get you a fair amount of xp and decrease the amount of time it takes to deploy the titan with each kill. You can have a titan every 90 seconds if you play right. None the less pvp combat is mainly in the roof tops on the maps, killing the enemies with there 'anti titan' rocket launchers. If you eject from a titan you get launched in the air and can easily make a roof top, hence why everyone is there. When you do come across a enemy in the open without a invisible cloak on, its immensely satisfying to pull the trigger. Not too long to kill enemies but the weapons dont feel op. After all you only get about 15 kills a game if your playing like a boss. Yet i can wait to see what other abilities you will get when the game is released. Surely a jet pack? Everyone is bouncing of walls now anyway, why not throw in a pack?

Conclusion
This game has awesome potential on the full release and has a different fps feel. I have to say it does feel next generation and to be honest i cant wait to play them in series as i know they are contracted ot make sequels every few years. But im getting ahead of myself. The game is worth a play. The beta goes open i think on the 17th so you should be able to play then! Hopefully the servers are more robust now. Below is a video of some gameplay (still uploading) my first two games are in this video so you can see what you might see when you first load up after the tutorial (which is awesome fun might i add).

Thanks for reading this pointless evaluation, i have nothing else to do since ive played the crap out of this beta. Cheers!

I got a chance to play Titanfall at TGS and loved it. But that was a long time ago, and it was one round of one game mode only. Over time, I began to wonder whether the game was really as great as I remembered, or whether Respawn Entertainment could really deliver that experience on a larger scale. But after playing the closed beta of the games PC version that kicked off a few days ago, I realize I shouldnt have worried.

I wouldn't say it was the best game I've ever played, but probably in my top 10 shooters.

I can't really be bothered for a full in-depth review of it however, the gameplay is high-octane and active.
I really enjoy how you are able to move around as a Pilot... Run around like a normal 'grunt', wallrun, wallhang, clamber over obstacles, use your double-jump jetpack, etc. I find the game is hard to revolve around the classic 'camping' cod-style; there is too much going on to be able to sit still. You either chase enemies down or die. It's as simple as that. If you try camping blocking one door, you can guarantee that an enemy will find at least 3 other ways to you and secure a kill.

The titan play isn't as enjoyable, for me at least. It's brilliant, don't get me wrong, but I prefer being one of the "run 'n' gun" types of players. You are powerful in a titan, but it is not overpowering. You can easily avoid a titan as they are usually focused on the others within the map. It's very easy to flank around an enemy titan to get the jump on them and take them out being both a pilot or a titan.

I would say this game will be in my top 5 for this year. I seriously consider it to be the cod-killer. It's a similar play-style but infinitely more enjoyable.
I am concerned about the cod community transferring to this game though... That's the main reason I hate Call of Duty; the community is chock-full of disrespectful and flaming sorts.
