The reason people move onto harder drugs is due to its illegal status, it would open some people up to finding other illegal substances

I feel the need to chip in my view, opinion and experience. Although, I am from the UK so I am not too sure what it's like in the US.

First of all, cannabis has NEVER been linked to a single death in history. In fact, cannabis has been proven to reduce cancerous cells. I personally think that cannabis should be legalised. If not legalised, it should at least be decriminalised. I don't understand why someone deserves to go to jail for possession of a few grams of a harmless 'drug'. In all honesty, if the government legalised cannabis, they would make A LOT of money by taxing it and selling it through official retailers(the same as with cigarettes).

Now, I'm in the UK so as far as I'm aware, it is a little different over here a it is in the US. In the UK(Scotland anyway), we get skunk, hash or green. These are the 3 types of cannabis we can purchase from dealers. They are all mixed with stuff so are obviously less safe than pure cannabis. As all of the cannabis(or weed) that we get is homegrown, it is mixed with chemicals. This causes the weed to weigh more so in fact, we get less weed than we should and the dealer makes more money. Due to the fact that the weed we have is so strong, we have to mix it with tobacco(not sure if it is the same in the US) which can cause a nicotine addiction. If cannabis was legalised in the UK, the government could have proper cannabis grown which would not be mixed with chemicals etc, this way the government make money from taxing cannabis, tokers can get good, harmless weed and get our moneys worth. I have personally been smoking weed for 2 years(smoking cigarettes for 3) and nothing bad has ever happened to me from smoking weed. Well, I did hit a "bad stone" once which cause me to become paranoid but other than that, I have been fine.
