what temps are you getting at full load?

Just try to keep the temps below 80

The H60 is a very low end liquid cooler, so I wouldn't overclock at all with a Haswell underneath it...

I actually just got this build. Idle is running 35-C average.
Full load seemed to be nearing 70-C average, and 75 max

It is essentially a silicone lottery. you can get great OC chip and terrible OC chips.

I just got a low-end cooler as of now, and will upgrade that in the very near future.
The temps seem to be somewhat okay, but only 2 of the 3 fans I have are functioning in my case as I have yet to purchase a fan converter. I just want an overclock that isn't plain overkill and that won't take a huge amount of life from my processor

4.2GHz is a nice overclock for any CPU. I run mine on 4.4GHz, but i use a completely different chip to you.

Thank you for your feedback, also thank you previous posters. It's always a great thing to receive multiple insights. I will just play the testing game, but may stay on this OC until I get a better cooler

No overclock within reason will noticeably shorten the life of your CPU and nobody knows how your CPU can overclock. The CPU will be old and useless before it ever comes close to failing, but over the years, it may not handle overclocks as well as it was when it was new. Make sure you're doing it right, though. This guide is simple enough and applies to 1150 as well as 1155.

Thank you! I went from a 4.2 GHz overclock to a 4.0 due to core temps, but when I get a better cooling system, I can happily reach a 4.8!
