I'm thinking of buying a capture card but i dont want to buy a PVR straight away.
Is there any capture cards i can play in HD with whilst recording in standard defintion.
Is it even possible?

as i knw of u cant..the only thing close to that is tha dazzle i got mine for 50 bucks but with that u can only play and record in sd..

All you have to do is switch the little box to the SD part... plug the Red, Yellow, and White cables into your capture card, then plug the HDMI cables into your TV. Simple as that.

Just get a dazzle and put the SD into the dazzle and put the HDMI(blue red green cables)
into your tv and on pinnacle studio switch your capture format to NTSC and you should be able to play in HD but record in SD

There are many tuts on youtube on how to play in HD with a dazzle.
Try searching them ;)
