This is my first time buying and building a pc. The main priority is for gaming. I have asked a few friends for their opinions, but you PC guys seem to know what is best. My budget is 550. I'm not very willing to move from that price. This build is currently at 553.22. I already have peripherals and a monitor I can use, and I plan on using Windows 7 as the OS by installing from a USB. I will probably get it from PirateBay but If I can't find anything reliable I will most likely purchase it.
I don't aim to run games with top end graphics or framerate, just as long as I can run most games easily I would be happy.
Part list:
CPU:AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core
Motherboard:Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+
Memory:Kingston Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage:Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card:Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB
Case:NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply:XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V

Any advice on better or cheaper parts that will get the job done, tr any information regarding the build would be great.

Update: Changed PSU to "XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V"

Some people might whine about the 7870 paired with the 8320, I think it's just fine. Everything looks good, but that PSU is a bit overkill. You won't need much more than 550w to run this PC, any of these PSUs will be ample for your system.

Yeah just checked and PCPartPicker estimates 400W. Changed it to the XFX 550W. Leaves room for when I upgrade parts.
Thanks for pointing that out.

im building one as well, except a fx-8350, radeon r9 270x and a few more goodies such as ssd memory 16 gigs ram... but that's besides the point. Honestly ive been searching for different parts, finding different specs etc for almost every graphics card processor in your range. and the 7870 is by far the best choice for the price, sapphire is also a very good brand for it. I would actually click to see if its available because I was actually searching EVERYWHERE for the 7870 and even though it was listed on pcpartpicker, the stores all said they were unavailable. anyways. the processor and MOBO go quite nicely and you will run at full ghz with it. honestly other than the PSU, you have the ultimate budget build for that price. CPU MOBO and VC are all excellent. storage, not familiar with that brand and I know western digital can have some really now prices and are good. Kingston memory I is good for the price, it just may have a tiny bit more CAS latency than some other brands (this is only nanoseconds of a difference, not very noticeable).

Overall great build, great finds, only option to make it cheaper is the PSU and possibly storage. send me a link to your pcpartpicker page and I can give you a further evaluation

edit** sorry for some reason I thought you had a pcpartpicker, nvm. but it is a great site to evaluate prices and different parts. also please post your prices for the parts,

8350 is a bit of a waste of money... get the 8320.
also, 16GB RAM has no benefits to gaming so use 8GB and save a bit of money there. With what money you have saved, you could get a R9 280X or a GTX 760/770

i would suggest getting a cheaper motherboard(assuming your not Over clocking) Then put the extra 10-20 GBP towards a R9 270x and you will benefit from it!

I'd also reccomend getting all your pants from Scan.co.uk

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

All the items will come with one set delivery price.
There also very quick at delivering and i have never had a problem.

They also offer 'scansure' which will be less than 20 GBP and what it basically is is insurance on your parts if you damage one whilst installing it they will send a new one out free.
