This isn't just Russia stepping in to stop the conflict, this is literally may be the beginning of WWIII. Putin won't listen. Russian forces will roll Ukraine's, the US and EU are too reticent to intervene, and he knows both of those.
If we let Russia have Ukraine, what ex-Soviet state will fall next? They're not going to stop at just one country, thats why Lithuania and Latvia have already called NATO Article 4 into play, other nations calling emergency meetings and The Pentagon has also recently upped the United States military's war readiness level incase of possible war / intervention.

It's simple geopolitics. Having Ukraine as a "buffer state" is the desire of Russia, like it happens with Belarus. They don't want Ukraine to turn west because it makes Russia more vulnerable, they want space around the country so that they have an advantage on reclaiming other soviet states.

Literally insane to see this unfolding, follow this closely TTG, this one is going down in the history books.

Don't know if it'll actually happen. First of all, don't know why United wants to intervene in this situation. I mean, if they do go to war, they'd be putting the live of millions of americans in danger.

I would keep expressing my thoughts, but the reality is that I don't know enough of this situation or about the relations of US and other countries to make a good argument.

Just hope this doesn't become something that it shouldn't.

The US, Canada and EU are obligated by the nuclear arms agreement (The Budapest Memorandum) they signed to uphold their borders. They are legally bound they will go to war with russia if this does not stop now.

President Putin has insisted on his right to defend ethnic Russians in Ukraine.

Hate to say it, but that's exactly what Hitler did with Austria, essentially.

russians are starting to dig ditches and set up the weapons.
Traffic is being stopped.
Cars, trains etc
(heard it on BBC news.)

EDIT: I beleive the russians mean business, why would they waste the money to move the troops and set everything up?

Oh god, another thing the U.S. is probably going to step into that were nothing apart of. I don't get why we even care... This isn't our fight and it isn't our problem.

I beleive the US are allies with Ukraine, correct me if I'm wrong though.

To be frank, Russia doesn't stand much of a chance with the allies we have.

Canada, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Japan, Italy, Turkey, etc.

While we do have many allies, IF this turned into a major war, China would be on Russia's side. Realistically though, our ally countries will not go to war with us to prevent WW3.

The US agreed in 1994 that if Ukraine disposed of their nuclear weapons we would defend them in an invasion.
