Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp was a South African model. On 14 February 2013, she was shot dead by Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, whom she had been dating since November 2012.

What is the topic about?
This topic is about the whole discussion of Oscar Pistorius who has murdered his wife. They are still unsure to whether this was done deliberately, or whether this was one big huge accident. Like every topic, people will have their own views and opinions, and we must respect everyones different views.

Currently, there is a trial taking place now which for the first time is being shown live. This was for the reason that the South-Africian Government didn't want to be biased, and they wanted to give a fair trial. This was also to keep everyone involved, and so people can have their view on it.

Oscar has pleaded NOT GUILTY.

The Trial:

The neighbour:
A neighbour of Oscar Pistorius has told how she heard screams and four gunshots on the night the star killed Reeva Steenkamp.

Michell Burger - the first witness at the athlete's highly anticipated murder trial - told the court how she woke up at 3am to the sound of "terrible screams" and called security.
This is supposedly what happened before gun shots were made:

"She screamed terribly and she yelled for help," she said.

"Then I also heard a man screaming for help. Three times he yelled for help.

"Just after her screams, I heard four shots. It was very traumatic for me. You could hear that it was bloodcurdling screams."

*Bathroom in which he shot his wife*

This is said to of happened, due to a jealous argument from Oscars side, and there was rumours that his wife was going to leave him. Which was said that lead to the argument, which could have provoked the shooting.

Nice topic.
Personally, I think he's guilty.
I did originally think he was innocent, but a lot of the story just doesn't add up.
Why would you wake up, see your girlfriend wasn't there, hear someone in the bathroom, and assume that it was a robber doing what...? Taking a leak?
Any sane person would assume that it was her, you wouldn't even need to call out to check that it was, it's just common sense.

yeah personally agree I'm currently doing a project on him and have to go over the trial details in class. His story has many holes that just dont help him at all.

Their current argument is "you couldn't hear emotion it was too far away"

I'm pretty confident that if anything what you hear most is the emotion.

I thought he was innocent at 1st, but like most people, the story I listened to just doesn't seem to add up
