In his State of the Union address, President Obama called on Congress to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour, and announced he would issue an Executive Order to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 for the individuals working on new federal service contracts.

Raising the minimum wage nationwide will increase earnings for millions of workers, and boost the bottom lines of businesses across the country.

Anyone want to take a bet on how many people will be losing their jobs because the companies will not want to pay the people $10.10 and hour?

I don't even want to think about it to be honest. lol.
I work as a backroom associate at Sears, and they've been pushing for us to get paid higher anyways, and I think 10.10 is just too much to be honest. lol

If this is 100% confirmed I think it will help for a little bit, then eventually the prices of everything will start to rise..

Considering it says on the White House's main page that this will help the living for more the 28 million Americans I doubt it's only for the city.

I know he raised the wage for government workers, and I was sad by that, but if hes trying to get the minimum wage raised for everone, this is a big, awesome deal!

I posted this same thing a couple weeks ago and it's not for ALL employees, only for Federal Government employees. I think it'd be really foolish to raise the minimum wage for all workers as it would only cause inflation of the currency.
