Miss wrote I posted this same thing a couple weeks ago and it's not for ALL employees, only for Federal Government employees. I think it'd be really foolish to raise the minimum wage for all workers as it would only cause inflation of the currency.

I highly doubt that their is 28 million Federal Goverment employees. In August alone, there were only 2.7 million.

Plus Federal Government employees should already be getting paid more than 7.25 an hour. I mean they do work for the Government.

In the beginning people might lose jobs but as time goes on and the company's earn money they will re hire or just hire more people. and like he said . High wages>more money earned>more money too spend> buisnesses will have more customers> more money to hire> repeat.

The wage will be lifted, but so will the price on everything.

This really needed to happen, and I am happy that it has happened. Minimum wage was really low with the rate of inflation, so hopefully this will compensate for it for a while.

Yeah, I can see mass layoffs when the Minimum Wage actually increases. My Mom also told me about this sometime ago. Not unless Congress can pass something to prevent companies from doing that.

Exactly, I personally think this is a dumb and terrible decision, one of many anyways so I am used to it.

You have to think though, Minimum wage is there to help with the cost of living.. Most people can't live off 7.25 an hour.. That's barely enough to pay for bills.. 2 paydays at 7.25 an hour and say you work 30 hours each week.. You make 435 dollars not including tax.. Include state tax you make around 375-385 for one paycheck. So that's like 750 dollars a month to pay bills, buy groceries and gas costs.

Minimum wage needs to be raised because the cost of living is higher, especially here in Tennessee.

This will create loss of jobs, and price hikes.
