Hi all

I just built my first pc and everything is working great expect.. the ram

I have instaled 2 x 4gigs of ram and when i boot up win 7 64-bit i go to home it says 8gig installed 3.99 useable

Any ideas on how to fix this? or can someone point me in the right direction

Are you sure it is 64 Bit? 32 Bit limits users to 4GB ish

100% its 64 bit really stating op me off

Remove both modules and put them back in, or swap the round. Maybe one stick is DOA

If its a dual channel MOBO then make sure they are set up in dual channel configuration.
