Hey guys,
So my dad wants to build a pc for mainly 3d rendering and graphic design work but its been a few years since I built my pc so I'm a little outdated on all the new specs. I checked compatibility and I'm 99% sure everything is compatible but I just want to get some other opinions on this build before he buys it since it's been so long since I built mine.
Anyways here are the items
ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core
(I have an amd zambezi hexcore so I don't know much about intels)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
EVGA SuperClocked w/ ACX Cooling 02G-P4-2774-KR GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0
(He needs at least a gtx 680 or radeon hd 7850 to run the programs)

Disregard these parts below
1tb hd 7200rpm 6gbps
dvd burner
100gb ssd
8gb ddr3 2400 ram
600w psu
Thanks for all replies.

There isn't really a budget I guess, just the cheaper the better. I'm mostly looking for if this is generally a decent computer based on those parts. I know it can run the programs for sure.

For what he want's I would highly recommend a i7 CPU preferably the 3770 or the 4770. An SSD is a must for a PC of this spec so that he can load the most needed programs quickly which can increase productivity. 16GB RAM will also be great for this system to help keep things smooth.

He picked out an i5 so I assumed he didn't have the budget for more than he already had...

So my dad agreed to spend the extra money for the i7 3770k, is the motherboard fine though? I don't know much about motherboards other than compatibility with other parts.

It's a decent mobo and it will be good for the task at hand.
