First off, some of you may remember I ranted on COD:Ghosts like the second or third day it was publicly released, my rant is not based on COD:Ghosts this time, it's based on the COD series in general, and asking the community's opinion on the developers seemingly new attitude. Also my rant is based on the Xbox 360, so some of the stuff I rant on may not apply to you if you are on a different console.
And Inb4 trolls: No I cant currently afford an Xbox one, I work for my money and don't have mummy/daddy buying me eveything. So take that silver spoon out of your mouth and put it where the sun dont shine.
[START]
As a Call Of Duty 'fanboy' I have denied that COD is dying since mass complaints where raised shortly after the release of BO2, but after Call Of Duty Ghost (which is imo the worst FPS ever created) I can kind of agree with everyone who thinks that way; the next cod will definitely be make or break for me and I'll be trying before buying this time around.
I've played since COD 4, been a fanboy since MW2 was my first "serious" cod.
Here is how I rate each cod I have played
COD 4 - Spectacular Call Of Duty, and still to this day popular among most Call Of duty fans, of course it's ancient but in it's time it was a great game.
WaW - Wasn't really a fan, but all-in-all a million times better than COD:Ghosts.
Mw2 - My favorite cod, mostly everything was perfect. (minus the noob tubes and danger close) I still say that NO COD after this title can compete with the sniping MW2 had, excellent hit detection and in it's time excellent connection.
Black Ops 1 - again another cod I wasnt a huge fan of, but still a very playable game that had it's moments. Although I wasn't a fan, I can still say that Treyarch did a good job considering it was their first crack at a COD game.
Mw3 - In my opinion this was the last "great" game Call of Duty had to offer, in it's time the connection and hit detection was usually excellent and the M.O.A.Bs made the game last a whole year without becoming boring.
BO2 - I love this game, I hate this game. It was a shame really, everything about the game in my opinion was great EXCEPT the horrible connection and host selection which totally ruined it for me completely. For this game to be "perfect" the host MUST be in the same region as you, and they MUST have a reasonably good connection. If you play this game on a foreign connection it's like everyone has 200% health except the host, which is absolutely unfair. Would have been a great cod W/ dedicated servers but for singular hosts it really sucked.
Ghosts - Without a doubt in my mind; the worst FPS ever created. I wouldn't even class this game as a Call Of Duty (in my mind). The game feels like a cross between COD and Battlefield, the maps are ridiculously over-sized and I believe Youtube totally ruined the community. (Yes I AM blaming Youtube for ruining the community.) Because when the game was first released, when the big Youtubers where uploading K.E.Ms mostly all of them where sweating in one spot and sound whoring.... and to this day THAT is how around 9/10 K.E.M strikes are earned. In my opinion 'skill' rarely comes into play in this game as most of your opposition is just sweating in random corners and due to the health being so low it is almost impossible to defeat them in a gunfight unless you know they are there or they are bad.
So I ask you all, considering the last 2 cods have been back-to-back FLOPS for a large percentage of the COD community; Do Activision give a **** anymore or do they just want to claw in as much money as they possibly can without putting in any major effort?
