Lavish wrote Boredom is a solid punishment.
Being "Bored" is probably the #1 thing teens complain about on social media.

Beat me too it haha.

detention is just a waste of time, teachers think of it as you waste their time then theyll waste yours. i have a teacher who shows up late at least once a week but she **** pisses and moans anytime someone is less than 30 seconds late to her class, especially if were walking all the way from shop thats across the street. its bs man i know

Well I haven't gotten detention yet, because I am good boy. Well I think its just to put a thought in your mind so you won't be late again and you won't have to face boredom.

I don't think anyone hates it, i just think it is rather stupid, considering i can be doing something more productive with my life including sports, work, homework, studying and other everyday tasks instead of sitting in a classroom for an hour and staring at a wall.

School districts believe that If you discipline a child with a penalty, that the kid will straighten up.
This isn't always the case, so it isn't really solving anything.
If anything it makes them more mad and they are more likely going to act out more often.

Well at my school you do homework, you can't put your head on the desk, you can't sleep, no phones. It's like a punishment. But yeah I agree it is kinda pointless and waste of time.

I guess detention is just a way of saying don't do something bad or you'll end up in detention again. It can prevent teens from doing something bad because they can waste their valuable time in detention.
