I would have put money on it being hijacked from day 1. A plane doesnt just disapear and if there is no wreckage... Hijacked.

If the plane could have flown on for around another 5 hours then it could have easily landed in some remote part of Asia, an abandoned airstrip maybe.. Usually hijackers want something and if these guys wanted something then they would surely ave made contact already. If they dont want something then what are they going to do with the passengers? Kill them? and the plane, what about that?.. a Plane which is under the radar like this one has to make you think they could have hijacked the plane so they can maybe do a terrorist attack of some sort?

I knew it was hijacked, after I heard that it was still flying 5 hours after they got disconnected something sounded fishy.

My first conclusion is that they landed at a military base because if they landed at a abandoned airstrip it would raise suspicion or they landed in a secluded airport (Hijacking). My second conclusion is that their is no such plane. Almost the same thing the US did during the Cold War and the blame would be toward Cuba.

Me and my father were discussing this today. What we cam up with is the possibility of a hijacking. While unlikely, this situation is possible, as are a lot of other things.

Fact is, if it were a crash either from a explosion, slow/fast decent into water, etc. the plane would be completely obliterated. Since airplane parts are designed to float, as we have seen in other cases in which a plane has impacted with water, it would be easy to find since there would be an .5 - 1 mile spread of debris.

Our thoughts are that the plain was hijacked, and flown to some country and was landed there. The reason that no terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for this would be do to the fact that there were "high profile" personnel on the plane: Scientists.

So, again, our thought is that the "terrorists" or hijackers could be holding the high profile and other smart people hostage and use them for their own purposes. As for the other passengers, if this case is true, they were probably all murdered while the scientists, etc are being held hostage.

If this is also true, then there is the fact that they now have an airplane in which they can 1) use for terrorism purposes directly, or 2) inspect it, and reverse engineer it so that in the future they can plan things since they will know how the plane works, where its weak spots are, etc.

EDIT: There was also a thing about the phones; When they called the phones, they would still ring. Standard procedures call for all cell phones to be turned off or in airplane mode, which, if they are in that mode, the call would not go though and would end immediately or after a ring or two. This tells me that there was some sort of struggle or problem and the passengers turned on their phones to try and call someone, however, they could not call because of the altitude at which the plane was flying.

This is just a theory, and I hope for the sake of the world and whom and what this situation could effect, that this is not the case.

There have been a lot of nuke conspiracies and remote landing conspiracies about this 777 and they are all unfounded. You cannot simply land a 777 remotely onto a strip that is not designed to do so, the 777 would crash during the landing and it would be of no further use. It takes millions of cubic feet of concrete under several meters of hardened or lime-stabilized soil. Grass strips and rock strips would not allow a 400,000 lb behemoth to simply be landed on it without destroying the hull and engines of the airliner. Even if they did land it somewhere, it would take 30,000 - 40,000 gallons of jet fuel to be added using a special hydrant designed for 777's and several maintenance engineers specifically trained for a 777 to ensure it can be further utilized.

If one were to deploy nukes with it, they would then need incredible mods to the cargo bay and a computerized weapons systems installed and then could only remotely hope they could deploy the nuke without blowing up midair and even if they did they would get nowhere their target and themselves would be vaporized as a 777 cannot outrun a nuke blast.

First of all, i have no clue where this nuke crap came from, i was thinking more fly into building.. that sort of terrorism. Anyway, if the plane has been hijacked and those who did it are terrorists then i really dont think they would care about maintainance of the plane.. if they are terrorists then chances are they are part of a much bigger group, a group which would be able to get hold of things such as fuel tankers.. they're terrorists, its not like they are law abiding citizens, they will do anything to complete their mission.

I have always thought to myself that it was hijacked. They must have a big abandoned airport though.
