how can you tell from a good patch and .xex from a bad one.just so it doesn't corrupt your jtag

well virus scan everything and use well know patches from reliable sources

Have Hex Editor, Drag Default_mp.xex and what Patch or dll your using and drag in HEX Editor, Do CTRL F on computer, Make sure text String is on, Put search direction on [ALL], Type in recovery.xex, Press Enter, If it sas something like Recovery not Found than your GoodFile should be Safe, If it shows you where its at than Delete that file dont use it.
