I am looking for a 500GB drive that I will be using for a few games, media and programs. What kind of prices am I looking at for a 6Gb/s SSHD or would I be better off getting a cheap 7200RPM drive?
*EDIT*
Just to clarify, I have a 120GB SSD for my windows, and I dedicated my 500GB HDD for another operating system, so now I need another HDD/SSHD for my windows OS as 120GB isnt enough.

500GB is rather small, so unless you have a separate 1TB HDD then i would get a HDD, but if you have a 1TB HDD then get the SSHD as speeds will be very good.

Ok well I have actually decided I would like to have a hybrid/HDD partitioned and have half for each OS I have on my PC. So 1TB would actually be a good idea yeah. Just like the 840 EVO is the best buy SSD, is there something similar in terms of hybrid?

Ok I have watched it, and I have a couple of questions:
1. Can it be partitioned like a normal hard drive can?
2. How much performance increase will I get?

1) i'm not entirely sure but I would have though so
2) over a standard HDD, LOTS, over a HDD and SSD combo, about the same if not a tiny bit worse, but only a tiny bit.

Ok I dont think its worth getting one then, I can save 30 on getting a 1TB HDD, and its only for games and media. Thanks for all the help. +Rep

I still think it would be a good investment but i'm not sure on partitioning.
It will be a lot faster than a standard HDD so i think it is still worth it.

I already have an SSD though, so I will just put my low memory req'nt games on the SSD and the high memory games(titanfall/BF4) on the HDD.
