Alright.

I have a couple questions for you:

1. What mod menu are you trying to load up?
2. Are you sure that you're using all of the correct files? (sometimes you need more than just the .dll or patch)
3. Are you able to load up any other mod menus with the same TU?

try these:

1. re-download the patch from somewhere else
2. re-download the game
3. put a non modded(clean) default_mp.xex in the mw2 folder root and see if u can play the game

i dont think it would be the modded files because it would still freeze when i had none in my mw2 folder

when i dont use any modded files it does the countdown to start the game and then says the disc is unreadable, when im not even using a disc.

That means that your copy of Mw2 is corrupt. Try installing a fresh copy of the game.

my disc drive is broke, when i put a game in it says its reading and then it says open tray.

Ah,

The known 'I hate my disc drive because it's broke' issue. Hmm, I'd say since your warranty is off, buy a new disc drive somewhere cheap but make sure to buy the right one.

It's not that hard to install a new disc drive, trust me

1. try different default_mp.xex
if this doesnt work,
reinstall mw2 and put all files again into the folder.

i am pretty sure the default_mp.xex is messed up
