I didn't buy it, a friend of mine gave it to me because he just bought another one, he was hosting on the day before. How do you tell if it's a RGH or a jtag?

Xexons are only Jtags. You say it doesnt turn on? Do you have a corded controller?
If say. Plug up your jtag and plug the controller in. If you get a green light flash once.
Then your jtag is still good. See if your friend knows what was wrong with it before he gave it to you. Xexons are known to die fast. I have one and it turns on but need a reflow.

When u turn it on eject the disk drive straigh away this disables the plugins
