Over the past couple of days I have seen people ranting about other people posting "selfies" with no make-up on to raise the awareness of cancer research. I have seen this on many forums and social networking sites. Sitting hear reading all the negative comments about people doing their "part" for cancer research is absolutely outrageous, and here is why!
1. This taking a 'no make up' selfie to raise awareness for cancer has went viral
2. Because it has went viral, it is EFFECTIVELY raising awareness
3. The effect of raising awareness for cancer is that people are picking the phone up and donating and it has went through the roof.
Just because people aren't phoning up donating, popping a couple of quid into a bucket supporting Cancer Research UK is donating is it not?
so take a breather, we're all contributing to the main great cause somehow

DailyMail wrote No make-up selfies raise 1m for charity...and now men are getting in on the action by slapping the make-up ON
- Women joined forces to post pics of themselves with no make-up
- The idea is to raise awareness of cancer
- Cancer Research UK have no idea where idea came from but are in support
- Breakthrough Breast Cancer also seen huge spike in site visits
- Campaign has now raised around 1m
- Now men have joined in too...but they've got full faces of slap!

I know about this, people are making a rant about people taking these selfies, all in all people are putting money in boxes and creating awareness, this is all that matters and that is the end of it. People don't need to rant about it and just need to come to the fact that see selfies are attracting attention and in all form they are increasing the awareness!

Exactly mate, I have even seen a increase from people just posting selfies to actually posting a selfie and then a picture of their donation.

what people are complaining about is that this whole taking selfies without makeup is irrelevant to cancer. There are much better ways to raise awareness of cancer, which can do far more in the detection and prevention of cancer at an early stage. Its not a bad thing thats happened clearly, its just there would have been better ways of getting peoples awareness of cancer up, in terms of checking yourself which is the most importing thing you can do at this stage.
