I just watched the purge, in my opinion the only scary thing was the random jumpscares..
I was hoping too see crime all across the city not just that random house.
Whats your opinion?

Had so much hype and potention.
It was a total let down, if it wasn't just about that one family. It'd of been ALOT better

It was kind of a let down all based in one house and hardly any violence other than just clips once the film started

Those two kids are the most annoying characters in all of movie history.
Spoilers:
"There's a random guy in the house who might or might not be trying to kill us, instead of going to the room with the guns, I'm going to go off in a strop." - The daughter.
"It's the one night where all crime is legal, there's a random guy covered in blood trying to get me to open the doors... -opens doors-" - The son.
"I need a haircut, but I'd rather spend my time building a creepy robot baby thing which plays creepy 1920's music." - The son.
"This guy is going to kill my entire family unless I give them the homeless guy who might kill my entire family... -hides homeless guy-" - The son.

This film is one of the worst films I've ever seen, the parents were great, Lena Headey and Ethan Hawke are brilliant actors, but those kids...

The only really good parts were the front door conversations between the dad and the murderer.
Rhys Wakefield absolutely nailed that role.

Funny, I finished watching it around 1 hour ago.

- I thought some of the plot was f'ing dreadful, Why the actual hell does that kid keep the homeless guy in
- It was predictable
- The "tension" they tried to build was lackluster and too obvious what was coming
- No real plot twist
- Ended abruptly
- It was also pretty weird

Overall, It was horrendous

The idea of a lawless period could have given rise to a fantastic story, done right, even a whole tv series accounting for different groups versions that intertwine and tell a bigger story?

For me the film was garbage, and I wouldn't recommend anyone spending their time watching it. It was a massive let down in my eyes.
