Vidar wroteLecter wroteVidar wroteLecter wroteVidar wrotefknvlink wrote No. because it doesn't make sense. About as believable as a all seeing being who lives in the sky.
Do you know your simile makes no sense at all? Please elaborate why.
There is no hard evidence that either exist, only faith based claims of either having an effect on the world.
I don't believe in it simply because it claims that there is a balance to the world.
The world is obviously anything but balanced.
Karma isn't instant and will always be left behind as we sin too much for it to catch up. But I believe it's there, even if it's not obvious enough.
If it isn't instant and it always falls behind sin then it might as well not exist.
I don't mind the Hindu and Buddhist versions of Karma, that what you do in this life will affect your next life, but the version which states that if you do bad things then bad things will happen to you simply doesn't make sense in this world.
Take Hitler for an example.
Responsible for the deaths of, arguably, 60 Million people.
He lived in comfort and peace while this was happening, only to end up having a quick death at his own hands.
Is that Karma?
Stalin, purged millions of people, allowed millions more to starve to death, he lived well into his 70's with most of the Soviet Union hailing him as a God.
Karma?
By instant I mean: karma isn't going to react as soon as you sin, but when it's least expected at another time and place.
Often people refer to Hitler. Did Hitler succeed? I do not believe Hitler got what he deserved (he deserved a nasty and painful death) but in the end, evil did not win over the good meaning the situation ended more balanced than it began.
I'm probably not the best person to discuss this with.
I don't believe that any morality exists, words like 'right' and 'wrong' have no meaning to me, other than in the context of what I've been brought up to think right and wrong is.
The idea of an innate morality doesn't make sense to me, never mind one which is separate from us and acts on it's own.

There's no right or wrong, Lecter. It's just what you believe in, which I completely understand.
I think believing in karma gives you a good discipline to follow, but it's often referred to being selfish.

Wow that's actually very selfish.
I don't get why you believe in something that makes no sense though.

I think karma exists. Obviously it wont strike instantly, its unknown when something is going to happen. If you do something bad, something bad will happen to you. Obviously it wont be something serious as getting hit by a car or something. Just little things like, going to the chip shop, coming out, then dropping your chips or something ahahah!

I think it's actually the opposite of being a good discipline to follow.
If everything moral levels out eventually then what's the point in even trying to be good?
I could murder someone with the thought of, 'Karma will make it all better eventually.'

I'm a Christian, and I believe it. Not for selfish reasons..
My friends voice breaks a lot and I always go like HAHAHAHA LOL and then usually without fail it happens to me a couple of minutes after. But that's a bad example. But yeah I do believe in it, I think it is Gods way of balancing out the world

I think you flaming my thread is selfish. Nothing makes complete sense. People have their beliefs.

No... If you commit bad then something bad shall happen to you, if you commit something good then something good etc.

Sorry not trying to flame. I actually don't understand why you'd believe in it. Could you tell me?

Personally...
Yes! I believe in Karma for example:
I was in the arcade with my friends when I was little and I gave my tickets to some kid who had a disability, his mum and dad gave me a hug and, well I really felt good about myself... I went home smiling, anyway long story short, I won a raffle a week after which got me my first console haha!
So yeah, I can expect comments saying "cool story bro", but I felt as if I needed to share it on this post.

From being paranoid and past experiences. If it wasn't real, it's just coincidence that affects me, no doubt.
