Out of these two I would get the S5
It all comes down to what fits you the best

Im gonna tell you right now, as of specs they are in the exact same class, they both have quad core snapdragon 801's(The s5's is 2.5GHz while the HTC Ones m8's is only 2.3GHz but almost no difference) they both have adreno 330 GPU's(Very powerful gpu, best you can get for mobile devices at this time) but when it comes to features then the s5 obliterates the htc one m8, fingerprint sensor, heartbeat monitor, 4k recording @30 FPS, and of course Samsung's bloatware TouchWiz, if you like physical home buttons then go with the s5, if you dont like physical home buttons then go with the htc one m8, the s5 is better, but only if you need it, if i were you i'd wait til summer, that's when all the good phones start getting announced, you may regret buying to early, but if you want it now then yes the s5 is more powerful, and you might like the htc one m8 more, but be warned the weaker the device the less time it lasts, anyways good luck with your purchase

another spec thing: the s5 has better rear camera 16mp, by alot considering the rear camera on the m8 is only 5mp, but the front facing camera is 5mp, while the s5's is 2.1 mp, the m8 has a better display not my much but it is better with a ppi of 441, while the s5 only has 432ppi, they are great smartphones but, the galaxy s5 is better

Sums it up for you. I personally prefer the look of the HTC One.

I got the Galaxy S5 a couple hours ago and so far i love it. i tried both in store but the S5 just felt and looked better in hand. its all personal opinion though. If the M8 had a better camera and got rid of the HTC bezel on the front it definitely wouldve been better

I would definitely say the Samsung S5

Its really up to you. I got the m8 for $200 out of contract where I work so I grabbed it just because. Performance wise, theyre basically exactly the same. I like the m8 better because of how its built. Solid aluminum case. Its just me thought. And I dont really like touchwiz

It won't, and doesnt, the s5 is faster and the rear camera is faster, and doesnt have on screen navigation buttons, the only thing the htc one m8 has over the s5 is the front facing camera is better

The only thing the M8 has on the S5 is thats its mostly aluminum, but besides the camera thats also its biggest negative. ive heard that without a case its more slippery than a bar of soap. plus a 4 megapixel camera is complete garbage
