I have a mac and i feel like getting a pc just so I can play DayZ. Do they even make DayZ for mac?

DayZ is only supported by PC at the minute, not sure if they'll ever release for MAC unfortunately.

What you could do is get a program that emulates Windows and than play dayz on it or simply install windows through boot camp on the mac os x software and partition part of your hard drive so you have windows and mac on your computer if you need help or information about it I have seen lots of sources on YouTube!
