when i scan my pc to see how much ram i can add it says Minumum 1gb and Maximum 2GB does that mean i can only get 2gb? or can i still add more ram?

What bit OS do you have? 32Bit limits the user to 3.2 or something like that whereas 64 is limitless.

its 32 bit windows 7 proffesionel but i was thinking of getting 64bit when i got ram but then i scanned and thought i couldnt because of how rubbish my computer specs are? so if i get 64bit then i can put as much ram on as i like?

if the motherboard can support it. then yes. With ultimate i can install 192GB RAM, not that i would ever need to.
