That is basically saying as long as you can commit a crime and get away with it for a good amount of years, you should never be sentenced.

You can't be objective about a situation like this.
If someone committed a crime and got away with it, and then completely changed their life around for a good amount of years, there's no point in putting them in prison.
Although there isn't any morality to back this up, if it was a crime like murder then in my opinion they deserve to be punished, if it's a crime like armed robbery where no one was hurt, it shouldn't matter.

I guess that changes some things, but I still think that if he's clearly changed even though he wasn't being watched by police or anything like that, you can tell that he made a decision to truly change everything about himself.

In my opinion, this is wrong.

They stuffed up, it is their fault he didn't serve his sentence.

In the US that is how it works. The statute of limitations says after a certain amount of time they can't arrest you or charge you for the crime.

I think Missouri is not being fair they are one of the most racist states and I think because of his skin color they are not being fare
