That doesnt really help when it comes to recoveries... but to OP the real way to fix this (or how i fix it when it happens to me) is that its the second step verification that needs to be passed so sign in to your friends account on xbox.com it should say you need to send a code to the email/phone linked to the account send it then tell your friend to give you the code input it on xbox.com then once you have fully signed in on xbox.com you should be able to download the profile on your console . Hope this helped

The post that "Ele" posted is 100% sure proof way to fix it. I had to do that the other day on an MW3 recovery. Do it this way.

To get passed this do the following:
1) Sign in on xbox website
2) Change to a temporary password (notify customer/friend)
3) Recover on RGH

They will have to change their password back on their own.

I believe this is caused by the 2-step verification and it sees the difference in the IPs.

Sing into xbox.com if the account needs verify it will ask to text or email them so you do that then they just send you the code then happy days not so hard at all.

nobody has a clue lol here do this;

1- go to xbox.com
2- sign in with their acc
3- if asked complete security steps
4- click my acc
5- click security
6- click xbox 360 profile protection
7- click require account download or summats like dat

boom recover it and it will work

This will fix your error.


1. Make sure you're connected on the same internet as your Xbox/Rgh.

2. Sign into the account on Xbox.com

3. Have them send you the code xbox send to there email.

4. Sign in on xbox.com all the way.

5. Recover on your Rgh Console
