when i unlocked my phone i had to call them and ask them to unlock it and they may or may not agree to unlock it depending on your contract with them at the moment. if you do get it unlocked and want to use it with another Carrier they might not take it because it unlocked from another company so i would call the company your considering using the unlocked phone with before you get it unlocked
