My brand new (and first) pc is arriving tomorrow and im going to build it myself with all the separate components, I was just wondering how to install the Ubuntu OS onto it after I have finished building. any help would be great, cheers

You can either use another computer to burn a bootable CD, or a USB drive. He means configuring a USB drive to be recognised by the systems BIOS and therefore bootable.

so basically just download a copy of the OS onto a USB stick and use that on the computer?

Depending on how Ubuntu likes to set itself up you might be able to open the setup and tell it to copy itself onto the USB stick.
Otherwise you'll need to google how you can make a USB drive bootable.
