So after a few weeks worth of research I finally gave in and bought a 3k3y for my 80gb backwards compatible cech01 phatty. The PS3 had a fatal error where the blueray drive stops reading ps3 games but reads everything else so I needed a new way. I've seen posts about confirmed working consoles using 3k3y, confirmed not working, and said to be compatible with "pata version ceche01 phat consoles.. Is there anybody here on TTG that has had any issues, or experiences(positive or negative) using a 3k3y on there 4.55 OFW? I never jailbroke my ps3... i didnt know my console was at a low enough FW till it was to late an updated it lol

I hated my 3key. I put it on the ps3. Used it for a week, it kept screwing up and making me refix it all the time so I sold it(ps3 and key) bought a 3.55 ps3 and put cfw on it myself. Now I mod ps3 games while I play backup games online

I may just have to see if I can find a low OFW PS3.. lol
