If water is see through then when clothes get wet why do they get darker

I found the answer to the first one so let me start off with heres my source: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Heres what i found from the above source for the answer to number one
Some of the light that bounces off of the surface of the object gets reflected back down by the underside of the water surface. So, it bounces of the object surface potentially multiple times before it escapes the water. That makes it look darker and more saturated.
