My brother joined at 16, he's now a para in the British army. He says he couldn't of wished for a better life and glad he didn't try and do pe as a career. He is now 27 and had a wife and kids, the army also paid for a degree in business for him so after the army he will be employable

I'm not in the army nor have I ever been in it.
But I want to be in the navy seals.

My old man is in the marines.

Miss him all the time though!

I'm not in the service but most of my friends are in the army. It's a great move career wise plus you can transition into civilian jobs pretty good based on what you've done : engineer , medic, etc.
I always hear stories about funny things for good times but they never talk much about the bad side even knowing them for almost ten years it's hard to bring that kind of stuff up.

My one friend was on the .50 cal of a convoy and he stepped down for a break while his Sargent went up for a bit. Not even 2 min later they hit an IED most of the guys were ok except his sarg who got his face busted up and another guy who's let was messed up pretty bad . My friend had his ear drums blown out and some cuts/ scrapes on his arm.

It's obvious going into war your going to expect things like that but for his squad it shouldn't have happened because the EOD Squad didn't check the roads ahead of them.

Best of luck if you do join. I couldn't because my knees are pretty bad and they were strict about physical limitations.

Back during the 9/11 incident they would take pretty much anyone short of a murderer. Now that we are not in a war stage the rules are back to being strict for new comers.
