when i try to close steam down it says please close rust before exiting steam but I'm not running rust and i can't exit steam, someone please help me

If you just exited the game, it take a bit of time for the computer to reply to steam that you are not running the game, (2 minutes tops unless your computer is slow)

You can also try Control+Alt+Delete and go into the Task Manager and and manually close down rust.

well its been more than 2 min, and my computer is fast.. i have an iMac and when i hit control shift esc nothing happens, so what should i do

You can force quit application by typing the key combination <COMMAND> + <OPTION> + <ESC> that should do the trick, if not only other choice would to be a force shutdown, but this should work for you

I have the same issue with Rust, just stop it's process in the task manager.
