Fraps is the best things out there that doesn't take to much processing power. I personally use Fraps. But if you have FPS to give up use XSplit

If you are a Windows user; i very much recommend "Microsoft Expression Encoder"! As it's free and a good piece of Software. i have used it personally in the past and very happy with the outcome.

It depends. If you're playing graphically intense gameslike BF4, or something then you shouldn't go with Fraps. Fraps uses so much F***ing hard drive space. A 55 second video with Fraps came to 2 gigs of memory already.

If you want smaller file sizes try going with Dxtry. If you want high quality with less file size compression use Fraps.

If you have hard drive space and a good specs you should use fraps.
If you have a compatible GPU you should use Nvidia's ShadowPlay it is very good, high quality video and doesn't take up much space.
If you don't have such great specs you should use DXTory, good quality and not as big file sizes like fraps.
