its overkill if you don't have 3 plus monitors. which most people do not. my gtx 660 runs games on greatest settings lol so u don't have to pay an extra $150 for a killer system

It's not over-kill at all. The GTX 770 is only 50 more expensive than the GTX 760 is and the 770 will out-perform the 760 all day long. It will perform better in anything and is useful in case you ever upgrade to dual or triple monitors. The GTX 760 would still be able to handle multiple monitor's though.

Just get the R9 270x, it's a great GPU and is not overkill at all. It runs all games on ultra, it's perfect.

But can it run most games at 60fps on ultra?

Depends on monitor resolution. I have a 270X and I run every game on ultra at 1440X900. But at 1080P it is going to be more demanding. However, it is still a great card and I would highly recommend one.

Man up and grab the GTX770, if nothing else, when the new cards come out if you ever want to sell your GPU the 770 will fetch more.

Although I have one, the fans are loud and not the most efficient.
I would get the MSI HAWK 270X if i had to get another 270X.

I'll probably just buy the GTX 770 when I get my paycheck next week. Any suggestions on which I should get? I'm guessing the Superclocked ACX found here would be good right?:

This should show you the GTX770's for sale from Newegg. Currently the ASUS one for 299 after MIR is a great price.
