Ok, so I was just coming back from my local shop and I passed the park. Now, as I cut through the park, I saw a hedgehog near a bench. The hedgehog was on its side with its leg twitching. It was alive but looked injured, and I hate seeing animals suffer. So I puck it up and put it into my bag to take home (not to keep but to try and help it). I have put it in a medium sized cage in my shed to stop predators from getting to it but I'm unsure what they eat and what I should do if it is injured. Hopefully someone who's good with animals can help me out!

Also, I have given it straw as an insulator during the night. If it recovers by the morning - which I'm hoping - I'm going to release it back into the park.

Google provides links to various Q&A's stating I need to take it to a vet. However this isn't possible considering my local veterinarian surgery is closed now and I have no methods of transport.

Hedgehogs each slugs .. They also eat cat food
I regularly have hedgehogs in my back garden, we sometimes give them cat food to eat.

It is nice to see that you cared for the hedgehog and not left it to suffer

Wow, very nice!
My nan used to pet hedgehogs (Not like normal wild ones, ones you can buy) and they used to regularly feed it lots of things!
Dog/Cat food, Hot Dogs, Cucumber, tomatoes, and a whole lot more! They eat most things tbh!

Just be sure to put him back where you found it, it will probably find his/her way back home from there

Such a nice person to tend to a wild animal. You don't see people like this much anymore. Kudos to you sir. Pm me if you need anything.

Hedgehogs will eat cat food. I don''t know if you have a cat, but that will always work. The best thing to do is bring it to a vet, the will be able to help you
