Actually most video edits are around the same time, if not even shorter. It's a style of editing, it's not meant to be a montage or minitage.

I know bro I mean like make it longer then 28 seconds as I think if it was 45+ seconds to a minute it would improve his skills and get more people entertained for more then 24-30 seconds.

He is right, make the video longer and show it will show that you have more skill for editing.
