hey everyone i've just started playing my fallout 3 after about a year and every now and then my game freezes it hasnt been to much of a problem until now i'm just up to the part of the game where you meet the BOS for the first time before you reach the GNR place and after i kill the first 2 super mutants and talk to that lyons chick my game freezes either before or after i talk to her but the weird thing is that when my game freezes i can still hear the radio and the game sound effects.
I've tried uninstalling the game removing all my saves and starting over i've tried the thing how you change the bUseThreadedAI number and adding that other line underneath it and i've installed the codec thingo but it still always freezes in that part of the game and it's really starting to annoy me because i F***ing love this game :'(
my computer specs are above standard
Core I7 processor
16gb of ram
Asus gtx 660 OC
800watt power supp
2tb hdd also a 2tb external hdd
so if anyone could help i'd really appreciate it oh and i have about 40 mods installed mostly weapons

Hey Rimesy,i'm not an expert but is the Core 17 a Quad core???,I do know that FO3 doesn't function too well on a quad core rig.
If it is a quad you can always shut down 2 of them while you are playing the game,when the game is running do the following:-
1,go into the task manager,
2,click Fallout 3,
3,change the AFFINITY from 4 cores to 2 cores,
4,when you have finished playing and before quitting the game repeat steps 1,2,3 and revert the core setting back to 4.
Being as you've done the:-
bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=2
steps 1-4 above are all I can suggest doing.
Oh and also save game progress often and make a new save every time,do not overwrite.

Hey Rimesy,do you have UAC turned on?
If you do then when you are in task manager on the processes tab select 'Show processes from all users' ACCEPT the UAC prompt.
This will run Task Manager with your administrator privileges. You should now be able to set affinity.
