why the hell would you engine swap a rx-7 unless your gonna put in a 20b or something. Don't swap out the rotary for anything other then a rotary

If you doing an engine swap and have the money for it I would drop an LS1 into it as well. It's a lot of work plus you would prob have to get a T56 trans ( for manual, not sure on auto trans ). LS engine can be had for pretty cheap even for a iron block out of a truck you just have to look around. It's a challenge but the payoff would be worth it.

When choosing a clutch u want to make sure it's rated for the power that you have or near the power level you want.

Say if your car makes 350hp to the wheels ( type of car is irrelevant for example ) a clutch that would handle 500 is about as far as I would go. Any higher and the pressure plate would be really unenjoyable to drive .

My goat makes almost 340hp to the wheels and I have an ls7 clutch in. The ls7 clutch is rated for up to 500hp but its pressure plate is estimated less than 10% of the effort compared to stock iirc. There are Monster clutch ( brand) that has stage 3 on up that can handle 350, 550, 750, and so on. Obviously something with crazy hp isn't going to be a joy to drive because of traction being the issue among driveline sturdiness.

You always want to stay within the power level of your car, not to the limits of its safe capabilities.

rotarys push out amazing power and are also considerably lighter then clunky v8's with superchargers.
A non turbo, 1.3L rotary can push up to 300hp on peripheral port. JDM isn't slamming a car, that does not in anyway make a car JDM. It is just something people from japan do to cars to ruin potential. an RX-7 is not a JDM car just because it is from Japan. It means that the car/model was only available to japan to buy brand new from a dealership. So unless you import or buy a car that has been imported it is not JDM. Please for the love of god don't put anything but a rotary in it. Don't ruin the car.
