That's what they'd all do, they'll work for you on PC/Laptop. I don't personally have one right now seeing as I'm using a really crappy PC while my other one is being built. But I believe " Hide My Ass " is one of the best, but you need to pay. Not sure on free ones.

You can be traced from you IP. I've been kicked off xbox live before and the person that did it sent me my exact adress. It can be done and it isn't that hard to do.

I seriously doubt you could even "bypass" a free VPN.

Just because you pay for a VPN, doesn't mean it is going to be good.
Read the ToS or Privacy Policy of that VPN.

You cannot get a VPN for xbox live. There are some for the computer but a lot can be penetrated.
