So I am wondering if I put a vga cable from my tv to my monitor would I get the tv picture on my monitor? Help would be appreciated

Hey there,
Usually, you would want to connect a monitor to a TV screen, using as you said a VGA cable, or a HDMI cable.
What you're asking is if you can do the reverse..
Off the top of my head I cannot say Yes or no, It's unheard of because most people want to connect things to their TV's such as laptops, Xbox's etc,
I don't think that you can get your TV picture on the monitor, unless you want to Mirror the two screens, but for that you'd still need a PC hooked up to the monitor in the first place.
