I recently went back and played some CoD games and I thought about problems that have existed in every one that hasn't been addressed.
- Matchmaking system. There's nothing worse than getting matched up with players that have a completely different skill level than you. Playing against a team that completely destroys you should not happen. Likewise, playing against a team that you completely destroys should not happen. This definitely needs to be addressed.
- Camping, and play-styles in general. The fact that you can sit in a corner of the map the entire game and do well is a problem. Something needs to happen to prevent extreme camping. It's gotten much worse in the last iterations of the game. The additions of things like Shock charges, multiple anti-personnel mines and explosives, Riot shields, Semi/Full-auto shotguns, etc. only enable, and even promote camping. The fact that [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] exists is a problem.
- Maps. This is a mostly subjective topic, but I figured I'd include it anyway. The maps in CoD4 and MW2 are considered some of the best maps in the franchise. There's a reason for this. They were simple, balanced and well thought out maps. It seems to me the newer the game, the less they care about the maps, and the less thought they put into them. Random placements of obstacles, random sightlines, random routes, unbalanced and one-sided elements and objectives. As a side-note, if you're going to remake maps, don't charge for them, and don't include them alongside new maps.
- Competitive and casual player bases. They've gotten better at this with Black Ops 2 and Ghosts with the inclusion of League Play and eSports Rules. Take it a step further though. Add more hybrid playlists. Modern Warfare 2 had 'classic' playlists that had 3, 5, 7 kill streaks with certain unpopular perks, attachments and guns disabled. This was really nice as it allowed people to play a balanced game without having to play competitively. Leaving certain fanbases out in the cold is a very bad thing to do. Halo 4 had this problem, and there's a reason it has 15,000 player peak populations.
- Certain mechanics not functioning properly. Last Stand Invincibility, lag compensation and Flinching Inaccuracy would be two large examples of broken mechanics in Call of Duty. Most noticeable in Black Ops 2, if you get shot, the flinch will make your shot miss even if you are aiming directly at them. This has been proven in videos. I'm not talking about when it makes you aim off of the enemy, I'm talking about when the flinch effect 'resets' visually, but not mechanically.

Mw2 style would be awesome! Who wouldn't want the perks and the best weapons. Get rid of danger close weaken noob tubes add new weapons and old classic ones. Idk for kill streaks! But cod am has been awful with ghost and mw3

- Ranked and casual multiplayer like cod 3
- New killstreaks and more of them
- Competitive map designs like cod 4
- More game modes, not less like ghosts
- Dedicated severs on all consoles
- Night time maps (So you need a flashlight on your gun or something idk)
- Gore like WAW
- No micro-transactions, so devs can focus on fixing the game not giving us snoop dog.
- New killstreaks and more of them
- Competitive map designs like cod 4
- More game modes, not less like ghosts
