try to play varus he is free to play now if ur good with him save up and get varus if u dont buy caitlyn

It depends how good you are with ADC.

Caitlyn is a very strong pick and is easier to play because of her high range. If you utilise her passive well, you can poke off your enemies quite quickly.

Varus has more potential for quick bursts of damage but has a significantly lower range. The ultimate can spread to multiple enemies which is a bonus over the blockable ultimate from Caitlyn.

Personally, I prefer Caitlyn. If you are confident with ADC and have a good support like Leona/Thresh, take Varus.

Hard to compare the 2 champs seeing as they both do different things.
Caitlyn is usually a never lossed lane. Either you go even or you win. She is great for pushing towers and sustained damage in teamfights.
Varus on the other hand is (not completely) more of an ad caster. He's very bursty with his w passive and his q and e. He's one of the few adc's who offer great teamfight utility from his ultimate. It's a hard skill to hit (the most missed skillshot in the pro scene), but if you get it on the right target then it's a teamfight changer.
His ult also makes him easy to gank for post-6. If you jungler comes and you hit the ult it's a free kill.

Honestly Caitlyn is more a a safer pick, And has a better lane match up against most players.
But then if you really just want to face melt people varus is good,
But caitlyn's dmg is a lot more sure.
