I'm beginning to notice a trend in new, next-gen IPs. Blending has become the name of the game. I think developers are starting to notice that a unique concept alone will not sell copies. But instead of wasting precious resources on researching new game mechanics, they are borrowing a plethora of existing mechanics from established franchises.

Look at Titanfall...you cannot describe the gameplay without referencing it's (huge) influences. Destiny will OBVIOUSLY take a lot from Bungie's last franchise but as many are pointing out, it also has the Borderlands feel to it and who knows how the vehicles will control or how exploration will be implemented.

While I can't say for a fact that these mechanics will be "stolen" from popular games but there's a great chance of it.

Not a bad thing though, this game is going to awesome, partly because of these borrowed characteristics.

hopefully all the squeakers stay on COD and not move to destiny, i don't feel like hearing them during public events.

Just because Activision is publishing it doesnt mean it has any relation to COD?

Did you even watch the gameplay on your Xbox ONE? It looks like and may feel like you are playing halo. It actually does look like halo except there are no spartans.. LOL
