the pvr is hd also? its name is the "HD" PVR and it has 1 extra cable.

Ok but I don't edit myself but have editors on my skype , I can send the clips to them but will I need PC or laptop for recording?

Well, Actually if you dont have a good computer the hd pvr 2 would be your best bet. considering it uses power supply and doesnt use up all your cpu to run like the elgato, thats is the reason why elgatos dont require power supply.

Elgato HD would be the best for you!
It basically does everything that fits your needs * recording wise.

I never said PVR wasn't HD did I? I just said Elgato was...
And yes my point was correct then Elgato does have less cables.
