I have a newer laptop with windows 8.1 installed on it. I purchased the computer from Best Buy last November. When I opened the box all I had to do was an easy set up. Windows was already installed. I downloaded windows 8.1 immediately. Just the past 3 weeks it now says I need to activate windows. I have my old code and I try to activate the computer using the code and it says cannot activate at this time. I also tried clicking activate online and it says the same thing. I also tried many other options and it still says I need to activate windows. I am probably going to take it to Best Buy if no one else has any idea.

My PC is an ASUS Notebook PC Model: Q550LF

Either call/go to best buy or call windows customer support. Hopefully it will be an English speaker . For future reference you should post this in the PC General forum. Hope your problem gets resolved easily.

Yah just go back to the future shop you purchased the laptop from. They are really the only ones that can help you since i dont think anyone on TTG will be able to help with a problem like this. If you take it back to best buy and simply explain the situation on what happened. They will probably provide you with a new code or something like that.
