I have the Corsair Vengeance 1500, it has 7.1 surround sound and is one of the most comfortable headsets I have ever worn. Its price tag is quite nice too!

I've got the Logitech G430 7.1 headset - very light and comfy with some of the best sound quality I've ever heard on a gaming headset. Lacks in microphone quality, however.

if you don't have a budget go with a decent pair of head phones and just buy a attachable mic don't buy "gaming" headsets if you don't have too.

I use audio tachnicas ath-m50's
they are all around great for gaming and casual use
they are also very comfortable and you can get them off amazon for $150 and below
