To gear more gear, start doing some LFR to gain better gear. You can also get timeless gear for the timeless isle, to start getting some gear.

another way to help bump the gear gain slightly is ve noticed that the heroic scenario daily (if you get the bonus) will usually award a 516 purple such as a belt or gloves doesnt sound like much but for a daily thing if you can get that bonus its a nice lil filler for gear spots

Grind battlegrounds until you get a full set of pvp gear. That should bring you to 522 ilvl. After that do LFR.

with Timless isles you can get add-on called timlessChest which when your on timeless isles it tell's you where all the hidden chests are. also when your there get charms take them to dwaf lady under shrine and swap them for 3 tokens which help in LFR last boss and Cels which give u insane gear. need anymore help just PM if on EU

that doesnt make as much sense , granted it makes sense if your after ilvl consistancy but not for initial gearing up o.O
as standard pvp is 522 and quite expensive per piece if you get a load of bad games or with the current bot infestations etc , but when in LFR only getting a 528 piece from loot that would mean sinking all your valor into for a week for a 544 currently, it would be best fit for gearing to use a mix of dungeon, timeless isle and LFR then fill in bits and pieces with conquest based gear if just spamming the gear but if is a new player or newish and after finding flow best bet is just follow legendary quest, youl learn new tactics , broaden your skillset and find some cool things out on the way from playing more

There's A LOT of chests all over timeless island, some of those chest replenish weekly or daily idr.. Not to mention the loads of rare's all over the island as well as the trial within the middle of the island where you have a chance to gain some really nice gear.

OT: To the person needing help, timeless island would be your best bet i think. Depending on which class you are it can be fairly easy or it could be a challenge in which case I'd get a friend of yours to help you out if they could. It would take a day or 2 maybe to get full 496 ilvl gear and if you're lucky enough maybe you'll get a few of the things (i forget what they're called that boosts the ilvl of the item you create) which makes that item like 533/535 ilvl i think? It's been quite a while since I've done stuff on timeless so please forgive me if i get some of it wrong. However, after getting the gear and getting 496 ilvl or higher this means you'd be able to start doing SoO LFR raids and getting more gear and then after that you'll have to start finding guilds/groups that do flexible-heroic for even better gear later on.

Also on the timeless island, you'll be have the chance to get the rare thundering onyx cloud serpent. As for other mounts.. there's quite a few you can buy and there's some you can get from running older raids etc some you can even get from level 25 guilds if they have done all the achievements.

Yeah i know about all the chests got 5 90s that i have to cart around there for Ordos/Celestials every week but the island itself is a nice place if its not a too populated realm or a PVP one as otherwise just turns into a mess
