It irritates me so much (not trying to be racist or to generalize a group of people) when people say the N word thinking they're so cool and thinking they're allowed to say it. I'm okay with black people/rappers saying it but i honestly hate it when you have all these preppy (White,Asian)kids saying that word thinking they're cool and "street". I certainly don't use the word because it is a racist remark, but when teens who aren't even black go around saying it, I just get a- why are you living- type of feeling.

Im only posting this because of this double standard that exists in todays society which also makes no sense to me. In which i also have to contradict myself and question why its alright for some to say it and for some not to. But this is rant mainly on the people who do say it.

I dont care who you are and i honestly dont care if you say it or not, but this is just my opinion.

/rant

Edit: Don't post to hate, i don't intent to offend people.

I think people need to get over it.

Racism comes from this type of attitude.

We put too much meaning in a word

Im not saying you cant, but it doesn't seem right when you have non-black people say it as if they can freely say, when in reality if there was an African American male present, they wouldn't say it. It just really annoys me when they say it and think they're black/form the hood.

Again Im not trying to sound racist or generalize everyone that says it.

People have a negative tendency with it,but I myself use it with my friends as a word like bro/friend.

I agree, but a couple days ago i stumbled upon someone saying that it serves as a double standard in society, in which i do agree upon that statement, but its hypocritical given how much controversy and racism it arouses in the media when non-black people say it.

I think the word used to have a negative meaning.
But as times have gone by, the word has lost its negativity.

I don't think it's that bad anymore.

its a f ing word, I feel like people over sensitize the word. Slavery is done with... its 2014.. honestly I feel like you saying ONLY black people should be able to say it is worse than allowing anyone to say it. its just word, its the individual that chooses the level of emotions to bring the meaning to...
