SiniSt3rCirCuS wrote If you go to the modem and unplug it for 30 seconds it resets your IP. So IP bans would not do anything because you can change it anytime

That would be if he has a Dynamic IP Setup, if he has a Static IP setup his ip will not change.

If your router has the option to change the routers MAC ADDRESS then your ip will change.

my router uses the modem's mac address and ip address which was built in from the factory so nothing as far as I know can be changed unless the modem itself is replaced. The ip and mac is completely static

Pretty sure IP bans are only issued on newer games.

Why do people keep saying not to use sawyer files?
I have been using them for 5 days now, with no ban, and ive been hosting on black ops 2.

Not all of us can afford to pay $20 a day for XBLS. Also i can get kvs for $15, so it works out better. Id rather be paying $15 for a few days, than $20 a day.

Yeah the files dont have XOSC spoofing, big woop, but they are free ffs.

As for the original post, using a vpn will make your retail xbox(s) safe. A vpn changes your wan ip, so if you dont use the VPN on your retail xbox(s) then they cant be linked to your jtag/rgh, as the retail boxes will run off your ISP's wan ip.

If your IP is static, then use a VPN or phone your ISP and ask them to change it before and after going online with your jtag/rgh.

If its dynamic, then just unplug the router and modem for 2 minutes and plug it back in. To make sure the ip has changed, type 'ip' into google before you unplug and after you have unplugged it.

Some routers don't support mac spoofing, but all this does is change your wan ip. Microsoft can't see your mac address, as MAC addresses change between networks (e.g. computer to router, then router to ISP, etc).

You guys don't know what you're talking about. I have talked to Microsoft Support, 5 different agents confirmed that they stopped IP banning. The correct way to say it is, they ban all Xboxs that are on the same IP. Not IP ban. If you don't want your retail to get banned, then it's as easy as, unplugging the ethernet cable or just keep it turned off. Then change your IP. If you don't know how to change a freaking IP then you should not even begin the use of a modded console.

Well said. They can't ip ban, because if you use your jtag/rgh on a specific ip, which you then change, and some innocent person using a retail xbox gets that ip address, then the innocent person would get banned.

Also they ban retails at the same time as the jtag/rgh, to stop people infecting them self online or to stop people recovering accounts on a normal xbox, then joining the modded xbox (which is alot less risky than recovering the account directly to a jtag/rgh.

This pretty much sums it up. I forgot to add that last part, thanks. ;)
