Microsoft mainly focused on how the Kinect will "revolutionize" your living room.. but now they are just completely getting rid of it and I'm here paying an extra 100 dollars for a piece of technology that'll just be left in the dust?

Its one of those things.
A company takes a risk, it doesnt work, they yank it.
Many companies have been there.
I wont have to buy one because I didnt jump on the wagon of "must have it now" people

I understand that they want to get rid of it because it wasn't successful but, why not make it a separate product in whole and not have bundled it with the Xbox? I'm sure many people bought the PS4 due to its price tag being 100$ lower than the Xbox's so, if they wouldn't have bundled it, they most likely would've sold more Xbox's.

They're not getting rid of it, and you'll still be able to buy the Kinect in stores. It just won't come packaged with the Xbox. Microsoft had to do this in order to compete with the PS4, which was obviously selling a lot more than the One because of it's cheaper price tag.

And because the PS4 is available worldwide while Xbox One is available in a few select market.

I really don't think you can say a company who makes billions every year makes bad decisions. Just because you are not fond of the kinect doesn't mean their target market is

Never bought kinect. Waste of time lol if i wanted to get fit i'd just use the wii which was sitting in the loft gathering dust!
The microphone on the kinect is also terrible (on the 360) sounded like people were talking underwater

Mhmm , I see your point here buddy. Maybe they thought it would bloom into something big. Its going down the same road as the "eye toy play" on PS2 where you can now buy it for $5 in most game stores.
My opinion , Sell them while you still can.

It was an attempt to make gaming more fun and active hence 'you are the controller'
It was believed that it would make people get off their bums and move around a little in comparison the sitting down on a chair and playing.
Same goes with Wii fit
